American Craft Manufacturing Co.
3423 Armitage Ave., Chicago Ill. 1935-1940
Makers of the Ever-Ready Electric Casting Sets, and Master Constructor Sets. I have two American Craft Moulds that I am sure are American Craft because I have not been able to find them in any other catalogs. They have Tic-Tac-Toe reinforcement bars across the back of the moulds with the threaded Stud for the handle in the upper center "square". I find it interesting that the mould from American Craft that I can find in REB/Castings is their twin engine Airplane mould. That mould from REB/Castings also has the Tic-Tac-Toe Reinforcement ribs. Typically Home Foundry moulds have the modified X rib pattern.
The Advertisement on this page is from the 1940 Sears Christmas "Wish Book". I believe from the photos and the images the American-Craft toys are from The American Craft Manufacturing Co. Sears did not produce their own moulds rather they repackaged moulds and put their name on it or sold it on behalf of another company such as A.C. Gilbert moulds.
